A strange xaela woman hailing from the east. Her features betray her birthplace despite the similarities to her kin. Draezha lives a relatively peaceful life, at least as far as those looking in might see. She established a speakeasy in the 11th ward of The Goblet in the heart of Thanalan. Living most of her life in the late hours of the night, she wakes in the evenings and begins her night with an evening meditation as the dusk settles.Once the stars lurk in a watchful glare over the horizon she can be seen flitting between darkly establishments under the cover of dance music and smokey halls. When the butterfly's wings unfurl from the cocoon, she follows its wistful beckon, creating seemingly endless connections. Potentially the depth of her secret in remaining so discreet is that to the onlooker, she appears to be nothing more than a casual denizen of the night, strangely clad but innocuous at a glance. What she does with the myriad connections she makes one could only muse about, though it is no secret to those in her vicinity that she is an information broker. Her motives remain to be seen as she continues to weave a vast web of interconnected organizations, even some who detest each other. Having some measure of connection to the void, she is also often under the scrutiny, her appearance giving way to the cautious approach of others. However, her character usually speaks for itself, if she is in fact carrying some malicious intent, it is deftly hidden behind her kind heart and welcoming candor.

Draezha began her life living on the Azim Steppe in a humble village of the Mol tribe. She spent the better part of her childhood tending to the daily monotonous tedium required by life on the steppe. As she grew older, it became apparent to the leaders of her tribe that she had potential as a shaman. She trained under the Udghan hoping to one day become a shaman for the Mol tribe, her enthusiasm unmatched compared to that of her peers with curiosity burning in her heart. She began trying to not only simply commune with the Elder Gods but also understanding what they were, how they operated, how the gods were immersed with the ways of the Xaela, the Raen, and those even beyond in the far west. One day, however, her curiosity bested her wits. She became disillusioned with the ways of her tribe, seeking to learn more about the other stars. Her ravenous thirst for knowledge led her to study the 13th; The Void. She wanted to know more about what happened to the once-star and understand what led the people there to become what they are: devoid of light and ever-hungry for aether. She wanted to know how the flood of darkness transformed them. Yet, the more she learned, the more paranoid she became, constantly worrying that she may attract a voidsent to her village, not only endangering the tribe, but also revealing her heretical studies. A fear that would become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Her paranoia grew and swelled within her, she started to believe that there were greater voidsent who planned to invade the source to ravage and pillage it as their own. Visions would swirl in her mind of a coming doom and a powerful voidsent by the name of Serimosa. She who would cross the threshold between stars and bring with her unmatched destruction. Draezha was ignorant to the true source of this being, however, and the more she obsessed, the more her paranoia grasped her, the more Serimosa became manifest. An Eidolon of the void, the equivalent of a primal in the source, manifested by her own fear and belief that grew stronger with each passing day. Serimosa thus did come for her, a form that appeared a reflection of Draezha herself. Though, she believed it was a trick, the ‘voidsent’ attacked her village, slaying several of her tribe before she finally stood before the demon. Serimosa struck her down, void fire scorching her body, the demon’s claws leaving her flesh riven. Draezha reached up with a shaking hand and begged the demon to stop, offering it a pact.In exchange for her sight and her body, Serimosa would leave her village in peace. She accepted this deal, and the demon vanished, taking its place within her vessel. Draezha faced the scrutiny of her tribe who sentenced her to exile, blaming her for the tragic attack that cost the lives of several of her tribe. Blinded and without direction, she then wandered as a vagrant into the unknown world where she would eventually meet a Viera woman. Lira was a kind and benevolent dancer who offered to take Draezha with her on her journey to perform around the world.Over time it became clear to her that Lira was not as benevolent as she believed. The woman grew closer to her, manipulated her, and lied to her. It was not until she came across a Garlean man who offered to assist her, that she started to see things clearly for what they were. In the far north of Coerthas, the man alerted her that the deceptive woman was a voidsent in disguise who sought to destroy her by consuming her aether for itself. He gave Draezha a strange crystal to trap the voidsent and told her that she need only get close enough to strike when Lira least expected it.In the dead of a quiet night, while the voidsent appeared to sleep, Draezha slipped a dagger from beneath the pillow and without hesitation she plunged its blade into the voidsent’s heart. As the man promised, Lira was trapped in the crystal and she brought it back to him where he swore to keep it safe. With this chapter closed, another took its place and she wandered once more into the wastes of Coerthas. While she was alone, two soldiers followed her into Behemoth’s Dominion with the intent to strike her down, motivated by hatred for Au Ra kind. Just when they moved to strike her down, a dragon swooped from the skies impaling both of them on her talons. The dragon looked to Draezha, bloody talons painting the snowy landscape in colourful crimson hues, introducing herself as Xverria. The dragon offered to help Draezha on the condition that she fought for her cause.Xverria gifted Draezha with one of her eyes, granting her the ability to use aethersight and slowing the corruption caused by Serimosa. With that, she made her way to The Brume where she would stay between the nights of hunting down those who stood against the Dragons. Eventually, a noble house by the name of House Fumee unveiled her operation and pressed charges of murder against her, forcing her to flee Coerthas to escape the consequences of the crimes she committed. Finally finding herself in the deserts of Thanalan, she started a new life on the streets of Ul’dah as an escort, selling her services to make end's meet. Though, while slowed, the corruption was slowly changing her. She knew that it would only be a small measure of time before she became a voidsent herself; a vessel for Serimosa to puppeteer as she pleased. She saved every gil she made and formed a plan to overcome Serimosa so she may retain her mortality to whatever extent it still remained.Buying property in the Goblet, she constructed aether siphons in the basement of the abandoned building. Using the aether siphons, she was able to gather enough strength to fully overcome Serimosa in battle, even if it was beneath the guise of a night club, quietly siphoning trace amounts of aether from unsuspecting guests. Despite the offers of her friends, she ventured to The Black Shroud where she called forth Serimosa and fought her until she eventually overwhelmed the voidsent. Knowing she could not simply trap her as she did with Lira, she leaned into the only prospective idea that she had… Consuming Serimosa’s aether.Through a rather arduous struggle, Draezha succeeded. The Eidolon was now part of her, sharing with her its memories, abilities, and even some features that were now reflected within her. Though, she still remains unaware to the knowledge that Serimosa was no voidsent at all.

The Kharankui are an ancient tribe of exiled Xaela from the steppe. Some exiled by choice, and some for other unknown reasons. Their methods spit upon the ways of the Xaela, and they are seen as cowards by those few who know of them, fighting in the shadows through theivery and otherwise nefarious means. Historically their mission has been to disrupt the political gains of nobility, believing no good could come from the governments fueled by the corruption of monetary value or self-serving business.Agents of The Kharankui are often seen as ghosts that haunt these powerful nobles, those who hear of them fearing that one day The Kharankui would hunt them, others entirely unbeknownst of their operations.Kharankui translates to ‘The Darkness,’ a descriptor apt for their infamous operations. Garbed in black as vivid and deep as the abyss, its agents are rarely seen, though perhaps recognizable by their shared belted scarves and the brooch of a demon’s head. Their organization has remained so deeply submerged in shadow that not even whispers of their existence brush the surface of hearsay beyond the lips of compromised nobles whose word has all but lost its weight. In recent time, The Kharankui have been expanding their power with the use of a secondary organization known as The Confluence – An information brokerage that runs out of a speakeasy in The Goblet called Demon’s Reverie. They use this information as a means to further their mission without drawing attention to themselves.Historically, The Kharankui were led by void-touched Xaela who consumed the aether of voidsent, utilizing their powers to further the cause. With their previous leader deceased, there was one woman who met the criteria and was swept up into their ranks to train amongst them and eventually become the the new shrouded face of the veiled tribe. They are referred to as the ‘Eidolon,’ an unassuming title referencing the pre-requisite of being void-touched, as well as the uncompromising loyalty of The Kharankui agents who follow them. Perhaps ironic, that their new leader consumed one such being’s aether...

The Confluence is a concept of juxtaposition, a convergence of like and unlike. Their mission is to create connections with nobility, politicians, illicit entities, military, and mercenaries. Independent or organized, they seek to quietly pull the unseen strings that puppeteer the balance of the world. Though they are not an organization so steeped in shadow to be unknown, they operate through discreet channels using modified tomestone devices that connect to a hidden aethernet using strange corrupted aether crystals delicately placed within the chasis of the device. Through the cloaked information network, members are afforded the discretion to communicate with one another indirectly and swiftly, preventing observers from connecting any member of the network to another. The organization is led by Draezha Serimosa, an eerie Xaela woman known to be the proprietress of Demon's Reverie. Though she does not flaunt her position, she is the keystone of their operations, spending her time networking with different entities from all over the world to further expand the sprawling web of the organization's influence. For every connection made by The Confluence, it serves to facilitate more connections, acting as a proverbial mill for information trade between different entities who would otherwise not engage with each other in business or other activities. Since its inception, the growth of The Confluence has become impossible to monitor, even its own agents unaware of just how many individuals operate within the network. However, it is known that the organization has a presence in every corner of the source, though some areas more than others.Originally formed as an organization that worked exclusively with illicit entities, The Confluence has since expanded under new oversight to include individuals and organizations with vastly varying motives. By allowing their presence to exist within the shadow of a conspicuous establishment and keeping its members hidden in plain sight, it makes the conduct of the network nigh impossible to track. This prevents the network from having to limit who it works with in lieu of a traditional information brokerage. The distinction of being involved within a full spectrum of varying ethics sets it apart from being an illicit establishment and carves its goals in the grey of moral alignment. With no grandiose motive to change the world beyond acting as a catalyst, the network does not associate itself directly with any other known organization and strictly maintains a neutral position on world events throughout Eorzea. It is rumored that the privilege of joining The Confluence belongs only to those who receive a spellbound black envelope sealed by purple wax adorned with a sigil that resembles an inverted triangular dreamcatcher. Once the recipient receives the letter, they are directed to meet a contact. Beyond this swirling rumor, it is unknown how anyone may draw the attention of The Confluence. Correspondence from organization is usually concluded with the phrase, "The confluence awaits." However, there is little known understanding as to what this phrase means or its intention.

Amidst the glancing gaze of the observing masses, Demon's Reverie maintains the anodyne guise of a welcoming speakeasy. Keeping its doors open to any merely seeking respite in the eve of an arduous day, or for those looking to meld into the shadows of a quieted evening. The Reverie offers an array of exotic drinks, music, and enticing escorts to its patrons. However, underneath the gilded surface of the establishment lurks an immense hidden network of individuals dedicated to catching the vagrant dreams of those who desire change. The speakeasy serves as the known headquarters for The Confluence organization and a sanctuary for individuals from all walks of life, or even from the stars beyond the source. It sits upon the eastern cliffside of a secluded ward in The Goblet as a monolithic and strange establishment draped in far eastern architecture. Each week on Wednesday evenings, its doors open to patrons from all over Eorzea and beyond, allowing the bar to serve as a means for inquiry and trade of information that is both common and veiled. With its proclivity towards being a sanctuary for all, it is said that beings even as strange and uncommon as voidsent or sineaters alike can be found walking its dark-tiled floors dimly lit by the iconic giant clock decorated with eastern floral designs. There is never any telling what you may learn upon entering the premises, or perhaps, it is the perfect place to find business for odd jobs or even mercantile trade. There is rumor that every member of the alluring staff is an agent of The Confluence, though it is suspected that some are just as uninvolved as the patrons themselves beyond working the floor.Find out more on the Demon's Reverie Carrd

A reflection manifest, not a voidsent, Serimosa is both the proverbial and physical consequences of Draezha’s ravenous curiosity which led her to peer into the void. Eager to learn more about the void, though growing ever more paranoid with the knowledge she acquired of the 13th, Draezha had unknowingly created a chain of events that would lead to her life being forever altered.Serimosa was a reflection of Draezha from the 13th, manifested as an Eidolon, an entity equivalent to the more widely known primal of the source or other similar stars. With beliefs forged in fear of a voidsent who would herald doom, she inadvertently created the Eidolon. The two were destined to collide from that moment forward as the self fulfilling prophecy would dictate. In time, Draezha would eventually consume the aether of Serimosa, effectively fusing the aether with her own. The event left her aetheric balance unstable and wild, however, through some extensive study and the help of some unlikely individuals, she learned to tame it. The light and dark aether became delicately interwoven within her in a dangerous dance. In the eye of the storm, she remains at peace but if she allows herself to venture too far from the calm, the aether within becomes unstable, compromising her control and leaving her vulnerable.

An outcast dragon, Xverria sought to gain power amidst the dragons by securing a forward position in the dragonsong war. She found Draezha stumbling away in a hurry from two armed men in the Central Coerthas Highlands, west of Camp Dragonhead in Behemoth’s Dominion, very near to where Xverria kept a hidden lair to remain close to her enemies. The rogue dragon swooped down and saved Draezha’s life, seeing an opportunity to gain another follower. Xverria offered a pact, she would lend the strange Au Ra woman her eye to slow the void corruption and grant her aethersight. In exchange, Draezha was to fight for Xverria in the war by getting closer to the dragon’s enemies and eliminating them from within. Though, events outside of the dragon’s control led to the woman fleeing Coerthas to Thanalan when one of the lesser houses placed a bounty on her head.Fortunately, with the dragonsong war coming to an end, Xverria had resolved to not call upon Draezha, allowing the woman to start a life for herself somewhere else. She knew that one day the woman would return the borrowed eye and relieve herself of the dragon’s service.

A relatively smaller house that is known for their strange investments, House Fumee never seems to act in a way that will further their house’s prestige or position. Instead, they opt to keep a status quo, presumably to prevent drawing attention to their… activities.During Draezha’s time living in The Brume and working for the dragon Xverria, House Fumee always seemed to be making every attempt to interfere with her. She managed to stay out of their grasp for a time, but after the Dragonsong War, it became difficult for her to maintain whatever guise she had. House Fumee saw fit to place a bounty on her head but the nature of the bounty eluded her. She assumed that it was due to her actions during the Dragonsong War, but she was unable to ever confirm her suspicions. Over time the mercenaries who hunted her pushed her to flee Coerthas entirely. To her knowledge, the bounty still exists, though it has been some time since she had been hunted. She claimed one such mercenary as her lover after a dangerous engagement where the woman hunting her saw through the claims of Draezha’s horrific visage which painted her as viscious and dangerous voidsent. Raiza Ku’ku stood between her and those who would capture or kill her. What interest House Fumee may have had in her still remains an inconclusive mystery...
