A strange xaela woman hailing from the east. Her features betray her birthplace despite the similarities to her kin. Draezha lives a relatively peaceful life, at least as far as those looking in might see. She established a speakeasy in the 11th ward of The Goblet in the heart of Thanalan. Living most of her life in the late hours of the night, she wakes in the evenings and begins her night with a meditation as the dusk settles.Once the stars lurk in a watchful glare over the horizon she can be seen flitting between darkly clad establishments conducting business with a colourful array of individuals. When the butterfly's wings unfurl from chrysalis, she follows its wistful beckon, creating seemingly endless connections. The secret to her discretion lies within her otherwise innocuous glamoured appearance, a careful veil hiding her more eerie features. How she wields the myriad connections she forms, one could only muse about, though it remains known to those in her vicinity that she is an escort and an information broker. Her motives remain to be seen as she continues to weave a vast web of interconnected organizations, even some who detest one another. Without glamour, her appearance often gives way to scrutiny and wariness, demanding the cautious approach of others. However, her character usually speaks for itself, if she is in fact carrying some malicious intent, it is deftly hidden behind her kind heart and welcoming candor.

Draezha began her life living on the Azim Steppe in a humble village of the Mol tribe, spending the better part of her childhood tending to the daily tedium required by life on the steppe. As she grew older, it became apparent to the leaders of her tribe that she had potential as a shaman. She trained under the Udgan hoping to one day become a shaman for her tribe. Her enthusiasm was unmatched compared to that of her peers with curiosity burning in her heart, and after a time she began attempting to commune with the elder gods, desiring understanding of them and their involvement with the ways of the Xaela and the Raen.Eventually her curiosity bested her wits as she had become disillusioned with the ways of her tribe and the elder gods. She sought to learn more of the other stars, however, her ravenous thirst for knowledge led her to study the 13th shard, known as ‘the void’ by many. She wanted to know more about what happened to the shard and understand what led the people there to become what they are: devoid of light and ever-hungry for aether. She wanted to know how the flood of darkness transformed them, yet, the more she learned, the more paranoid she became that she may attract voidsent to her village, not only endangering the tribe, but also revealing her heretical studies. A fear that would soon become a self-fulfilling prophecy. As her paranoia grew and swelled within her as she started to believe that there were greater voidsent who planned to invade the source to ravage and pillage it as their own. Visions would swirl in her mind of a coming doom heralded by a powerful eidolon called Serimosa that would cross the threshold between stars and bring with her unmatched destruction. Draezha was ignorant to the true source of this being, however, and the more she obsessed, the more her terror grasped her, the more Serimosa became manifest. An eidolon of the void, the equivalent of a primal in the source, Serimosa was a reflection given form by her own fear and belief that grew stronger with each passing day. Serimosa thus did come for her, a form that appeared too much like that of her own. At first, she believed it was a trick, that this ‘voidsent’ could not possibly be as it seemed, however, it attacked her village, slaying several of her tribe until she finally stood before the demon. Serimosa struck her down, void flame scorching her body, claws leaving her flesh riven asunder. In her despair, she begged the eidolon to cease, offering it a pact that would define the rest of her life.In exchange for her sight and the promise of her body as a vessel, Serimosa would leave her village in peace. She accepted this deal, and the eidolon retired to its promised hearth within her vessel and cursing her with eternal blindness. Draezha then faced the scrutiny of her tribe who condemned her to exile for the tragic attack that cost several innocent lives of the Mol tribe.Blinded and without direction, she wandered as a vagrant into and unfamiliar world where she would eventually meet a Viera woman named Liraxhea. Lira was a kind and benevolent dancer who offered to take Draezha along with her as she traveled to perform around the world. It seemed like a bargain she could not refuse. Given that she had nowhere else to go in her helpless state, she set out with the dancer's troupe.Over time it became clear to her that Lira was not as benevolent as she believed. The woman grew closer to her, manipulated her, and lied to her, abusing her blindness and vulnerability to take advantage of her. She started to see things clearly for what they were when she came across a Garlean airman who saw through Lira's lies and offered to assist her. Leading her to the far north of Coerthas, the airman alerted her that the deceptive woman was a voidsent in disguise, attracted by Serimosa's presence. He warned her that Lira was seeking to consume her aether. However, he offered his assistance and gave Draezha a strange crystal to trap the voidsent and told her that she need only get close enough to strike when Lira least expected it.In the dead of a quiet night, while the voidsent appeared to sleep, Draezha slipped a dagger from beneath the pillow and she plunged the blade into the voidsent’s heart without hesitation. As the man promised, Lira was trapped in the crystal and she returned it to him where he swore to keep it safe. With one chapter closed, another began and she wandered once more, this time into the wastes of Coerthas. While she was alone, two hedge knights followed her into Behemoth’s Dominion with the intent to kill, motivated by ignorant hatred for Au Ra kind. Just when they moved to strike her down, a dragon swooped from the skies, impaling both of them on her talons. The dragon looked to Draezha, blood painting the snowy landscape in colourful crimson hues, and introduced herself as Xverria. Without explanation, the dragon offered to help Draezha with the growing corruption caused by Serimosa on the condition that she fought for her cause.Draezha agreed and Xverria gifted her with one of her eyes, granting her the ability to use aethersight and slowing the corruption caused by Serimosa. With that, she made her way to The Brume where she would stay in secrecy, infiltrating and providing reconnaissance for Xverria during the final days of the Dragonsong War. Eventually, the noble House Fumee unveiled her operation and pressed charges against her for the murder of the two hedge knights the dragon had shielded her from and she was forced her to flee Coerthas to escape the consequences of the crimes she had allegedly committed despite her innocence. Finally finding herself in the deserts of Thanalan, she started a new life on the streets of Ul’dah as an escort, selling her services to make end's meet. Though, while still slowed by Xverria's borrowed eye, the corruption was slowly changing her. She knew that it wouldn’t be long before she transformed into voidsent herself; a vessel for Serimosa to puppeteer as she pleased. She prayed that Xverria would not come to collect the eye she borrowed while she saved every last gil she acquired, forming a plan to overcome Serimosa so she may retain whatever still remained of her dwindling mortality.Upon securing the appropriate funds, she bought property in the Goblet, where a dilapidated monolith still stood, abandoned. There she constructed aether siphons in the basement with the help of an unlikely friend with a passion for magitek. She opened a night club at the location and used the aether siphons as planned, quietly siphoning trace amounts of aether from unsuspecting guests, slowly gathering enough strength to fully overcome Serimosa in battle.Despite the pleading offers of her friends to assist her, she ventured alone into The Black Shroud, far away from any civilized areas. She called forth Serimosa and fought her until she eventually overwhelmed the voidsent. She knew she could not simply trap her as she had done with Lira, so, she leaned into the only prospective idea that she had left… Consuming Serimosa’s aether, an act known as diablerie when committed by a mortal.Through a rather arduous struggle, Draezha succeeded. The eidolon was neutralized, intimately part of her, sharing with her its memories, abilities, and even some of its physical features that were now reflected in her appearance, to her dismay. She now seeks to free herself from the lingering influence of the eidolon, however permanently altered her body may be from the years of corruption.

THe KhüniJiN

The Khünijin are an ancient organization deeply steeped in the shadows of the source. Their earliest origins are nothing short of elusive, but speculation places them at the foundation of an empire that predated the Dawn Throne in the Azim Steppe. However, in the current day they operate with veiled intentions, their members only recognizable by an inverted triangle tattoo. Many rumors have circulated over time, leaving nothing but questions in their wake, the Khünijin presenting as more of a proverbial wraith than anything tangible. There is no common knowledge of them nor curated archives of who or how many they are. The moniker of Kharankui, given to them by those unfortunate enough to have had encounters, translates to “The Darkness,” an apt descriptor that aids to their existence being nothing more than a ghost story. The sparse rumors of them detail devilish beings garbed in inky black with little to no adornment, beings who move like shadows fleeing lamplight in the dark. From what little has been uncovered it was revealed that their leader is known as Qayajin, which means “The Judge,” who acts as a shadow broker, facilitating their quiet dealings. Similarly, Khünijin means “Mortal Scale,” which is to suggest that their interference in worldly powers plays some role of judgment, an intent of affecting the balance of the scales of life. However, there is a great deal of uncertainty surrounding who the current Qayajin is or if the throne of this ‘fallen empire’ lies empty. In recent time, some communications between noble houses and political outfits have been intercepted, mentioning the Kharankui, but if they have any connection to those involved in the intercepted communications has yet to be established. It is believed that this sudden resurfacing of exchanged rumors signifies the Khünijin have become active once more and are expanding their reach.

THE CONFlUEnce

The Confluence is a concept of juxtaposition, a convergence of like and unlike. Their mission is to create connections with nobility, politicians, illicit entities, military, and mercenaries. Independent or organized, they seek to quietly pull the unseen strings that puppeteer the balance of the world. Though they are not an organization so steeped in shadow to be unknown, they operate through discreet channels using modified tomestone devices. Through the cloaked information network, members are afforded the discretion to communicate with one another indirectly and swiftly, preventing observers from connecting any member of the network to another. For every connection made by The Confluence, it serves to facilitate more connections, acting as a proverbial mill for information trade between different entities who would otherwise not engage with each other in business or other activities. Since its inception, the growth of The Confluence has become impossible to monitor, even its own agents unaware of just how many individuals operate within the network. However, it is known that the organization has a presence in every corner of the source, though some areas more than others.Originally formed as an organization that worked exclusively with illicit entities, The Confluence has since expanded under new oversight to include individuals and organizations with vastly varying motives. By allowing their presence to exist within the shadow of a conspicuous establishment and keeping its members hidden in plain sight, it makes the conduct of the network almost impossible to pin. This prevents the network from having to limit who it works with in the way of traditional information brokerage. The distinction of being involved within a full spectrum of varying ethics sets it apart from being an illicit establishment and carves its goals in the grey of moral alignment. With no grandiose motive to change the world, the network does not associate itself directly with any organization and strictly maintains an unbiased and neutral stance on world events throughout Eorzea.Members of The Confluence have access to a cloaked information trading network accessible only through modified tomestones. This allows members to communicate with one another indirectly and swiftly, preventing observers from connecting any member of the network to another. It is rumored that the privilege of joining The Confluence belongs only to those who receive a spellbound black envelope sealed by purple wax adorned with a sigil that resembles an inverted triangular dreamcatcher. Once the recipient receives the letter, they are directed to meet a contact. Beyond this swirling rumor, it is unknown how anyone may draw the attention of The Confluence.

DEmON'S REVeRie

Amidst the glancing gaze of the observing masses, Demon's Reverie maintains the anodyne guise of a welcoming speakeasy. Keeping its doors open to any merely seeking respite in the eve of an arduous day, or for those looking to meld into the shadows of a quieted evening. The Reverie offers an array of exotic drinks, music, and enticing escorts to its patrons. However, underneath the gilded surface of the establishment lurks an immense hidden network of individuals dedicated to catching the vagrant dreams of those who desire change. The speakeasy serves as the known headquarters for The Confluence organization and a sanctuary for individuals from all walks of life, or even from the stars beyond the source. It sits upon the eastern cliffside of a secluded ward in The Goblet as a monolithic and strange establishment draped in far eastern architecture. Each week on Wednesday evenings, its doors open to patrons from all over Eorzea and beyond, allowing the bar to serve as a means for inquiry and trade of information that is both common and veiled. With its proclivity towards being a sanctuary for all, it is said that beings even as strange and uncommon as voidsent or sineaters alike can be found walking its dark-tiled floors dimly lit by the iconic giant clock decorated with eastern floral designs. There is never any telling what you may learn upon entering the premises, or perhaps, it is the perfect place to find business for odd jobs or even mercantile trade. There is rumor that every member of the alluring staff is an agent of The Confluence, though it is suspected that some are just as uninvolved as the patrons themselves beyond working the floor.Find out more on the Demon's Reverie Carrd

SerimOsa

A reflection manifest, not a voidsent, Serimosa is both the proverbial and physical consequences of Draezha’s ravenous curiosity which led her to peer into the void. Eager to learn more about the void, though growing ever more paranoid with the knowledge she acquired of the thirteenth, Draezha had unknowingly created a chain of events that would lead to her life being forever altered.Serimosa was a reflection of Draezha from the void, manifested as an Eidolon, an entity equivalent to the more widely known primal (or eikon) of the source or other similar stars. With beliefs forged in fear of a voidsent who would herald doom, she inadvertently summoned the Eidolon. The two were destined to collide from that moment forward as the self fulfilling prophecy would dictate. In time, Draezha would eventually consume the reflection's aether, effectively fusing Serimosa's aether with her own. The event left her aetheric balance unstable and wild. However, through some extensive study and the help of some unlikely individuals, she learned to tame it. The light and dark aether became delicately interwoven within her in a dangerous dance. In the eye of the storm, she remains at peace but if she allows herself to venture too far from the calm, the aether within becomes unstable, compromising her control and leaving her vulnerable. Her endeavor towards finding balance absolute to quell and control the storm within has become an everlasting pursuit. With the help of friends of the shadows, she has discovered a path that will aid her in her goal, allowing her stern reign over the volatile powers that rage against one another.

Xverria

An outcast descendant of Tiamat, Xverria found no respite with other broods. However, with noble intent, she sought to gain power amidst the dragons by securing a forward position in the Dragonsong War. During this time was when she crossed paths with Draezha, who she discovered stumbling away in a hurry from two hedge-knights in Behemoth's Dominion, a vacuous cliffside bowl of frost that could be found in the far west of Central Coerthas Highlands, very near to where Xverria kept her shrouded lair, hovering above the jagged spires below, to remain close to her enemies.Xverria wasted no time in saving Draezha’s life, seeing an opportunity to gain another follower toward her cause. Upon her successful rescue Draezha was offered a pact by Xverria, allowing the strange au ra to borrow her eye in order to slow the vicious corruption that worried away her very essence, threatening to transform her into a dangerous voidsent. Her eyes granted Draezha with partial aethersight and the strength to resist the corruption as promised. In exchange, Draezha was to fight for Xverria in the war by infiltrating the home of her enemies and running reconnaissance. Though, Draezha was forced to abandon her duty to Xverria, fleeing Coerthas to Western Thanalan when one of the lesser houses placed a bounty on her head.Fortunately, with the Dragonsong War having come to an end, Xverria had resolved to not call upon Draezha, allowing the woman to start a life of her own somewhere else. She knew that one day the woman would return the borrowed eye and formally relieve herself of the dragon’s service. She had made peace with that truth.Eventually, she did in-fact return the eye and Xverria relinquished her from her billet. They said their goodbyes and the au ra woman took leave. Yet, several years later, during Draezha's trials, she returned to Behemoth's Dominion once more, seeking out Xverria to make amends for their estranged status. That was when it was discovered that Xverria had been killed. Some small efforts were made to discern who was behind the murder; who could have bested a dragon of Xverria's caliber, but little information was left to be found and her companions had much to accomplish.Eventually, Draezha was afforded the unique opportunity to speak with Xverria before she crossed over into the aetherial sea where she was once more granted the dragon's eye and blessed with choice of sight during the day. However, she vowed to spare this gift for special occasions. In the end, Xverria granted her the honor of being called daughter as she was promised that the dragon and adoptive motherly figure would remain by her side until Draezha let loose her final breath.

House Fumee

A relatively smaller house known for their strange investments, House Fumee never seems to act in a way that will further their house’s prestige or position. Instead, they opt to keep a status quo, presumably to prevent drawing attention to their otherwise unsavory activities.During Draezha’s time living in The Brume and working for the dragon Xverria, House Fumee always seemed to be making every attempt to interfere with her. She managed to stay out of their grasp for a time, but after the Dragonsong War, it became difficult for her to keep whatever guise she had. House Fumee saw fit to place a bounty on her head, though the nature of the bounty eluded her. She assumed that it was due to her actions during the Dragonsong War, but she was unable to ever confirm her suspicions. Over time the mercenaries who hunted her pushed her to flee Coerthas entirely. To her knowledge, the bounty still exists, though it has been some time since she had been forced to evade pursuers. She claimed one such mercenary as her lover after a dangerous engagement where the woman hunting her saw through the claims of Draezha’s horrific visage. Such claims would have her painted as a viscious and dangerous voidsent, a claim that found purchase as a result of her eerie appearance compared to other xaela. However, the mercenary; her lover, Raiza Ku’ku, stood between her and those who would capture or kill her. What interest House Fumee may have had or still has in her still remains an inconclusive mystery...

The Immortal Flames

Having established Demon's Reverie in The Goblet, with intent to expand The Confluence's affiliations. Draezha sought out The Immortal Flames with interest in creating ties. At first The Immortal Flames rejected her proposal, stating that the Flames had no use for what The Confluence had to offer, and would not work with an illicit organization. They threatened to place her in the Ul'dahn gaol if she didn't leave the premises of their station. However, the threat did not deter her, she expressed desire to speak with ranking officers on the matter, and with some reluctance her request was met. She was guided to a war room where she met with several officials of The Immortal Flames and expressed her plight. She offered to provide them with any information The Confluence could gather on movements of their enemies or other intelligence relevant to their missions. In exchange, The Immortal Flames would allow The Confluence access to some of their resources and provide assistance if needed. After some deliberation, the officers agreed that it would be beneficial for The Immortal Flames to work alongside The Confluence. Though, they would only agree on the condition that Draezha herself joined the Flames as a contracted operative and reported directly to them when appropriate. In addition, they stated that if The Confluence was ever discovered aiding enemies of the Flames or compromising the sanctity of Thanalan amid their business dealings, that they would cut all ties with The Confluence, and Draezha would face charges of treachery.

The Brass Blades

Having established herself in Thanalan and The Goblet, as well as making her way into the ranks of the Immortal Flames as an informant and operative, it was only a matter of time that Draezha caught the attention of the Brass Blades. Initially, some of their more unseemly constituents approached her. They tried to run a racket on her, making an attempt to extort her and quickly realized that she wasn't as harmless as she seemed. She incapacitated and dispatched them, then reported their activities to their superiors. Shortly after, the Brass Blades expressed interest in forming a business deal with her.In exchange for information relevant to their operations, the Brass Blades would offer protection to The Confluence within Thanalan. It was an offer she had no qualms with accepting, as facilitating information trade with the Brass Blades only served to further her motives and allow the roots of her network to take hold in The Goblet.
